Prevalence of the Various Hepatitis B Immune Markers in Healthy Person and Liver Disease


Abstract
A radioimmunoassay for the various Hepatitis B immun markers has been used in 192 healthy person and 42 liver disease patients
The results obtained are as follows
1. In healthy person, prevalence rate of the HBsAg was 6. 3%.
2. In healthy person, prevalence of the Anti-HBs tend to in-crease with age and mean prevalence rate was 24. 5%.
3. Prevalence rate of the Anti-HBs was 23. 5% in Doctor, 19.4-% in Nurse and 26. 8% in other hospital employee.
Prevalence rate of the Anti-HBs;in non-hospital personnel was 25.2% and there were no significant difference between hospital and non-hospital personnel.
4. In liver disease, highest prevalence rate of the HBsAg was 70. 0% in liver cirrhosis and mean prevalence rate of the Anti-HBs was 52. 4%.
5. In liver disease, one or more hepatitis immune markers were present in 36 of the 42 case(90.5%).
None of the hepatitis immune markers were present in 4 case(9. 5%) which suggest the relation to non-A, non-B hepatitis.
